SKEPTISCIENCE is an ANR (French National Research Agency) funded project.
SKEPTISCIENCE focuses on online discussion forums (PubPeer, PubMed Commons, F1000Research, etc.) developing new forms of evaluation of already published scientific articles. The growing visibility of scientific misconducts and non-replicable studies questions the efficiency of the traditional peer review to detect errors and frauds. Hence the need, repeatedly expressed by members of the scientific community, to reflect on possible solutions or ‘updated’ versions of peer review, in particular by making the most of the latest technological innovations. Open Peer Review and Post-Publication Peer Review are the main prominent figures of these ongoing changes.

SKEPTISCIENCE étudie l’impact des innovations technologiques sur le travail scientifique et son évaluation. Ce projet propose un travail d’enquête consacré aux plateformes de discussion en ligne (PubPeer, PubMed Commons, F1000Research, etc.) créées dans les années 2010 et qui promeuvent une nouvelle façon d’évaluer les pratiques et les organisations professionnelles scientifiques, à savoir l’Open Peer Review (OPR) et le Post-Publication Peer Review (PPPR). L’OPR et le PPPR se développent dans le cadre d’un mouvement plus large de transformation de l’évaluation par les pairs.
